Why should I meet you for a face-to-face interview?
A face-to-face meeting is a vital first step in building a professional relationship. This interview will help us to understand your needs, career goals, strengths, weaknesses and interests. This information helps us find the best match for you in the briefest time frame.

We also use the meeting to provide advice on job-searching techniques, such as writing an effective resume, enhancing the image of your CV, and explaining the process and additional services we offer.

I visited your offices a year ago. Is it necessary to meet there again?
Your CV and circumstances may well have changed during the past year. It’s important for our consultant to become familiar with these changes so that we can provide the correct information about you to our clients and match you to the right opportunity. This saves time during the job-searching process. It’s also a chance for you to get to know your consultant and start building a lasting business relationship.

Will you let me know which prospective employers have been sent my CV?
Yes. Once your consultant has ascertained your needs, you will be informed of any roles that fit your profile. The consultant will reveal the client is and requirements of the role.

Who are your clients?
Our client list includes several major banks and financial services companies; large auditing and consulting firms; leading project houses; established IT companies and JSE-listed companies across several industries.

What is your process regarding confidentiality when conducting reference checks and contacting current employers?
Network Recruitment is a member of APSO (The Association of Personnel Service Organisations of South Africa) and is ethically bound to adhere to a strict code of conduct. Reference checks are undertaken discreetly, in a manner that will not endanger your present employment, and only with your permission. No referee will be given the name of the prospective employer without your permission.

How long, on average, does it take to find a new position?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to predict this timeframe – we might phone you tomorrow with the perfect opportunity, or it might take a year before we find a suitable position. However, research has shown that candidates usually undergo five to seven interviews before finding the right role. It all depends on the client’s requirements and your needs.

How many agencies should I approach when looking for a new job?
You may believe that your job search will progress with greater speed if you register your CV with more than one agency. However, we recommend that you approach no more than three agencies; otherwise you will not be able to keep track of where your CV has been sent, and by whom. This may create the impression that you are desperate and impact negatively on your professional image.

What happens after the interview with my consultant?
Your consultant will do his/her best to find you the perfect opportunity and to maintain regular contact. However, they cannot guarantee your placement: this depends on the type of opportunities available and if your skill set matches the client’s requirements. Please note that it is important to inform your consultant about changes on your side.

How often will my consultant contact me?
This depends on the type of opportunities that are available. Consultants aim to maintain contact with their candidates but they will not waste your time with meaningless communication if there are no suitable positions available. However, you can expect one of our Executive Relations Coordinator to check in with you from time to time. They will keep your consultant apprised of any changes to your profile.
