What is your guarantee period?
For our guarantee to be validated, the full placement fee must be paid within 14 days of the candidate commencing employment. Please note that if you do not validate the guarantee within the stated period, you will not be entitled to receive replacement candidates or a rebate, even if the candidate’s employment is terminated due to technical incompetence or unsuitability.

  • Employment terminated within the first month 60% (Credit note)
  • Employment terminated within the second month 40% (Credit note)
  • Employment terminated within the third month 20% (Credit note)

What is your policy regarding replacements?

You are entitled to receive a replacement candidate if the employed candidate is terminated because they lack the technical competence for the position in which they have been placed. This applies only if the guarantee has been validated, and if the termination takes place within the guarantee period. The original charge will be credited in full, taking into account any differences in the salary packages of the first candidate and the replacement. The new fee will be calculated and invoiced on the total annual cost to company remuneration package of the replacement candidate. The replacement is only for the same position, geographic location or job description.

How long, on average, does it take to fill vacancies?
This depends on several factors, including the scarcity of skills. Generally speaking, however, initial contact takes place within 12 hours of our receipt of the job specification. Delivery of CVs also depends on the scarcity of the skills in question: scarce skills may be sourced within three days or more after receipt of the job specification, while more common skills may be found within one to three days. Following the delivery of CVs, the speed of the process depends on your procedures. We have made placements in as little as 24 hours.

Do you conduct background checks?
The placement fee includes reference, qualification, credit and criminal checks, as well as ID validation and verification.

What is the role of the consultant in salary negotiations?
The consultant’s role is to create a meeting of minds between the client and the candidate and to make sure that all parties are in agreement regarding the salary package. It is important that the salary package offered by the client is in line with the salary of the candidate. Miscommunication around this point may result in the candidate’s refusal of the offer.

How many agencies should I approach to assist me in filling my vacancy?
This is an area where quality is more important than quantity. You will enjoy more effective results by approaching a single specialist agency than consulting with many generalist concerns, especially if you are seeking to fill a specialised position. It’s a good idea to eliminate any non-specialist agencies from your candidate search; then narrow the list further by investigating the client portfolio of each. This will reveal whether they have enjoyed prior success in your industry. Restricting the number of agencies involved will also make it easier to manage the recruitment process.

How can I get the best results from a recruitment agency consultant?
Communication, communication, communication! A consultant works best when she has a full understanding of your requirements.

It’s important to outline any soft skills or personality attributes that the job requires, as these cannot be inferred from a general job specification.

Remember, too, that communication does not end once you have passed on your requirements to the consultant. It is essential to maintain contact throughout the process. For example, debrief the consultant after each interview. This will give her an idea of the traits that you like or dislike. This will help to build your relationship, and will give the consultant an idea of which candidates may be suitable for your next vacancy.

The more a consultant knows, the better equipped she is to find the perfect candidate.

How many CVs should we screen when filling a vacancy?
Asking for three CVs from each agency. This excludes internal applications.
